Radio Demo Project

Overview:

The point of this assignment is to learn basic Garageband techniques and voice recording by creating a Radio Demo. A Radio Demo is a recording that radio DJs use to showcase their DJ skills. Students will create a three song Demo with prelude, two interludes, and a postlude:

  1. Open iTunes and go to Zeb's music library and note 3 songs you like on Radio Demo Plan Sheet.
  2. Fill out Radio Demo Plan to record song info and write your commentary
  3. Show Radio Demo Plan to Zeb and he'll download the songs to your Flash Drive
  4. Create a new Garageband project and save as: name_radiodemo
  5. Import three songs to Garaband file from flash drive
  6. Create a real instrument track and record four clips of your voice: prelude, two interludes, and a postlude based on the commentary you wrote on your Radio Demo Plan
  7. When done, go to Share>Export Song to Disk and save as an MP3
  8. Open iMovie HD, Spotlight>iMovie.
  9. Create new project, saving to desktop.
  10. In iMovie HD, File>Import, and import your mp3
  11. Export video to your flash drive in "web streaming" format
  12. Create new blog post and upload radio demo video as a video.
