The point of this assignment is to learn Garageband real instrumentation and track editing. The beat will be a re-creation of an original famous break beat: funky drummer or amen break. Also include a sample of your choosing.
- Listen to the Funky Drummer and Amen Break at this blog and pick which break beat you want to re-create.
- Find the tablature: funky drummer or amen break,
- Open Garageband Project and save as name_beats to flashdrive
- Create one software instrument track for each instrument that will be included in the beat
- Follow tablature to create the break beat
- After re-creating the beat find a sample you add sample from one of your Radio Demo songs
- When done, go to Share>Export Song to Disk and save as an MP3
- Open iMovie HD, Spotlight>iMovie.
- Create new project, saving to desktop.
- In iMovie HD, File>Import, and import your mp3, add pictures if you want (optional)
- Export video to your flash drive in "web streaming" format
- Create new blog post and upload Break Beast Assignment as a video.
